Fine art & Illustration

Rick Berry

From what I know, fine art is art that is generally created for decoration purposes only or art that is made primarily for its aesthetics rather than its practical application. Berry's work has the aesthetic of an oil painting that you would typically find on display in an art gallery but I also believe there is a story behind the piece, a message that is waiting to be unfold. Berry's work I believe crosses the line between fine art and illustration because he has the craftsmanship of a fine artist and has the ability like that of an illustrator to communicate a message or story with his work.
